Privacy policy

Protecting your data matters to us. We process personal data exclusively on the basis of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable national law.

1. Controller

2. Contact form and enquiries

When you contact us via the form, by e-mail or by phone, we process the details you provide (name, e-mail, business, optionally phone, number of sites, interest, message) to handle your enquiry and to prepare a business relationship.

  • Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR (pre-contractual measures) and Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest in answering business enquiries).
  • Also stored: the page the enquiry came from, campaign parameters (e.g. utm_source, gclid), the browser identifier and an irreversible hash of your IP address to prevent abuse. We do not store your IP address itself.
  • Retention: until your enquiry is closed, or up to 24 months after the last contact if no business relationship results; statutory retention periods apply to business relationships.

3. Hosting and database (Google Firebase)

This website is served via Google Firebase Hosting; form enquiries are stored in Google Cloud Firestore and processed by Google Cloud Functions. The provider is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. Database and functions run in the Frankfurt region (europe-west3). A data processing agreement with Google is in place. A transfer to the USA cannot be ruled out; Google LLC is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

When you visit the website, the hosting provider processes technically necessary data (e.g. IP address, time, page requested, browser) to deliver and secure the website (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR).

4. Fonts

All fonts are loaded from our own server. There is no connection to Google Fonts.

5. Cookies and web analytics

Without your consent, this website sets no analytics or advertising cookies. If enabled, we use Google Analytics 4 and Google Ads conversion tracking only after your consent via the cookie banner (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR, § 165 (3) Austrian Telecommunications Act 2021). You can withdraw your consent at any time via "Cookie settings" in the footer. Your choice is stored in your browser's local storage.

6. Your rights

You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection. Contact us at office@metisfood.hu.

You may also lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority – in Hungary the Nemzeti Adatvédelmi és Információszabadság Hatóság (NAIH, naih.hu), in Austria the Austrian Data Protection Authority (dsb.gv.at).
